WebShield Partner Documentation

This site provides technical documentation for partners integrating with the WebShield Privacy Network—including consent, authorization, trust verification, and privacy-preserving access to data and services across organizational boundaries.

Integrations are designed to be incremental, allowing partners to start with lightweight changes and adopt additional capabilities over time.

Note
Documentation and development are open; participation in the Privacy Network Exchange is governed by membership for production use.

How Integration Works

The WebShield Privacy Network is designed to integrate with existing systems rather than replace them.

Partners typically begin by adding EasyAccess consent language to their existing Privacy Statement and Terms of Service—no infrastructure required. They may later choose to deploy WebShield components to publish captured consents to the Privacy Network Exchange.

Adoption is incremental and role-specific—publishers and consumers integrate different capabilities at different times.

Choose Your Path

This documentation serves different types of Privacy Network participants.

Publishers

Publishers are organizations that manage user-facing systems and choose how and when to connect them to the Privacy Network.

  • Phase 1 (Start Here): Add EasyAccess consent language to your Privacy Statement and Terms of Service — no infrastructure changes required
  • Phase 2 (When Ready): Deploy WebShield components to publish captured consents to the Privacy Network Exchange

Consumers

Consumers are Privacy Network participants who read, verify, and enforce published network artifacts within data, analytics, or application workflows.

They typically:

  • Connect via standard protocols (e.g., Delta Sharing)
  • Query published consent and verification tables
  • Verify trust and authorization signals
  • Enforce permissions in downstream processing
